The Norwegian backpack that inspired our whole story

Honestly? We never thought about selling backpacks. But then came the moment every parent knows – it was time to choose the first school backpack. It had to be practical, light, comfortable and beautiful too. But what we found in Czechia rather disappointed us. Lots of compromises, little real quality.

And then chance – or fate – stepped in. Our daughter was spending the summer at her grandma's in the Beskydy mountains. And right there, in a small second-hand shop, grandma found an older BECKMANN backpack. Barča fell in love with it at first sight. And so did we – when we picked it up and saw how cleverly and well it was made. Even after five years of use, it was still in great condition.

How BECKMANN backpacks found their way to Czech families

We found out that this Norwegian brand offered exactly what we were looking for – only hardly anyone in Czechia knew about it. At the time we were running the Jojo Park family entertainment centre, which is also why BECKMANN agreed to work with us, and we went all in as a family.

Today, eleven years later, we're glad we can bring BECKMANN closer to others too. Because we know what it's like when you're looking for the best for your child – and then it finds you.

2014

The first goods from Norway

We pooled all our money and courage and ordered our first pallet of school backpacks from BECKMANN.

2015

The first e-shop order

We packed it at home in our living room – with heart and care. Things are different today, but the joy of every order stays the same.

2016

Visiting BECKMANN in Norway

The whole family went to Kristiansand to see the new collection up close. We agreed on further cooperation with the owner, Martin Beckmann.

2017

A bigger premises and warehouse

The small storeroom at the Jojo Park entertainment centre was no longer enough. We moved to a larger building in Ostrava-Hrabůvka, better suited to further growth.

2018

A store and more warehouse space

We moved into larger spaces within the building and opened the first official Zdravý Batoh BECKMANN store in Ostrava. With growing interest, one room was no longer enough.

2021

A new visual identity

After 7 years we updated our logo, moved away from the quilted graphics and replaced the original corporate identity and e-shop design with a minimalist style.

2022

An invitation to Norway

We flew straight to BECKMANN. A new collection, a boat trip and a friendly dinner. We also combined the trip with a visit to Oslo.

2024

Moving to a warehouse hall

Small, scattered spaces were slowing us down. We needed to make operations more efficient and simplify our processes. We rented a 500 m² hall in Ostrava-Kunčičky.

2025

Opening stores in Prague and Brno

The time had come to get closer to our customers and let them try on and touch a backpack in person. Now you can experience the wow effect of BECKMANN backpacks in all 3 of our country's largest cities.
